Missouri High School Rodeo events are for contestants in the 6th thru 12th grade. High School division for students in the 9th thru 12th grade, Junior High division for students in the 6th thru 8th grade. Students can join and compete whether they go to a public, private high school or are homeschooled. High School girls compete in barrels, pole bending, breakaway roping, team roping, and goat tying. High School boys compete in bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc, team roping, tie-down calf roping, and steer wrestling. Junior High girls compete in breakaway roping, ribbon roping, goat tying, barrels, pole bending, and team roping. Junior High boys compete in breakaway roping, ribbon roping, tiedown calf roping, goat tying, chute dogging, team roping, and bull riding. For both divisions, points are earned for the top 10 each event which accumulates to qualify for the National High School or Junior High Finals Rodeo.
